While Ushoran was off claiming his amulet from his descendant, Nagash remained at his Black Pyramid. He decided the second follower to raise would be Neferata, for she had served him best of all before her death at the hands of the Queen of Lybaras. However, whereas Ushoran’s form was relatively simple to craft on the basis of him being a monster, Nagash knew that the Queen of Lahmia cared greatly for her form meaning it would take a little longer to craft a form for her. Rather than simply amassing bones, Nagash decided he would craft a statue from sand to create the perfect likeness of her youthful form which he knew she had cherished most of all and then would use the statue’s form as a template to map her new corpse onto.

However, Nagash’s return had gone far from unnoticed by the local Tomb Kings. After all, it’s a bit difficult to cover up the sight of a Pyramid immersed in red necrotic mists as if being overtaken by hundreds of Wind of Death spellcasts. The Tomb Kings considered sending an army but decided to go down a different course of action. Rather than attempting to overrun Nagash with numbers, it might instead be wise to try to overtake him through sheer power. The Khemrikara decided to dispatch the Mortuary Cult, a collection of the Tomb Kings greatest spell-wielders (minus Khatep who was exiled FYI), to the Pyramid of Nagash to end the God of Death’s reign before he sets his empire up.

And so Khentaka, High Liche Priest and Hierophant of Khemri, Ankhmare, Master Embalmer and Keeper of the Sacred Oils, Nebamun, Tomb Prophet, 2 High Priests of the Old Gods and a remaining 12 Liche Priests from across the lands of the Tomb Kings, thereby representing the 14 Temples of the Old Gods across Khemri, now ride to the Black Pyramid of Nagash to thwart Nagash’s re-ascension by dropping his own pyramid on top of him.

It’s the newly crowned God of Death vs 17 of Khemri’s greatest spellcasters. Who shall prevail?

Love React – Nagash stays inside the Pyramid as he uses his powers to whip up a massive sandstorm. The Mortuary Cult members are all caught in the storm and torn to shreds. Not a single fragment of fabric surviving in their stead.

Wow React – Nagash leaves the pyramid to face the liche priests. As he treads across the desert sands, the ground he has passed turns a dull grey, as if the harsh desert sunlight of Khemri had itself seeped out and died. Seeing him approach, Khenteka commanded the Liche Priests to start casting soul raising spells against Nagash (raising dead soldiers, draining Nagash’s soul,…). However, upon beginning to cast, the bones of the Liche Priests turned the same muted colour as the sand beneath Nagash’s feet before crumbling in an instant. The Liche Priests intended to raise souls but all souls belong to Nagash now and by beginning to cast, the Liche Priests had made their souls accessible to Nagash regardless of range. Khenteka, Ankhmare and Nebamun fled the field before Nagash did the same to them. Upon inspecting the deceased liche priests, Nagash discovered that one of them was from Lybaras. Nagash took a rib from this liche priest to use in the formation of Neferata’s new form, a fitting comeuppance after the Queen of Lybaras killed his right-hand woman.

Laugh React – Nagash approached the Mortuary Cult, walking through the desert sands. As he walked towards them, Nagash’s body shone in a bright green energy as ghostly beings proceeded to float up from the desert sands. Where only seconds ago Nagash stood alone, he was now accompanied by thousands of Ethereal Nehekharans as they slowly approached the Liche Priests. Realising they were in way over their heads, all 15 members of the Mortuary Cult mounted their skeletal horses and fled. Nagash returned to the Black Pyramid and continued to work on Neferata’s new form.

Angry React – Nagash remained in his pyramid and proceeded to cast his sandstorm spell. However, before it could be completed the liche priests of the Mortuary Cult took to their positions and in one joined cast forced the pyramid to fall in on itself and plummet to the surface, crushing Nagash’s new body.

Sad React – Nagash left the pyramid only to be bombarded by soul-flaying spells. Without much choice on the matter, Nagash turned and ran. He could come up with a plan elsewhere.
