As the war between Dawrfs and Elves rages on, not all Dawi were lucky enough to be awarded the opportunity to fight in the war. Bardin Goreksson, Dwarf Ranger, was one of the unlucky few who stayed home to protect the many Dwarf holds. Bardin was staying in Karak Gantuk, located within the Black Mountains, since it was believed to be one of the Dwarf settlements at most risk due to its small size and lack of defences now that the main military force had left. However, it wasn’t Karak Gantuk that ended up being attacked, or at least not yet, Karak Hirn itself is besieged!

Karak Hirn, greatest Dwarf settlement of the Black Mountains and home to King Alrik Ranulfsson who left his homelands to join King Thorgrim’s war with the Asrai, is under attack from Clan Rictus and their sly leader Tretch Craventail.

And so Bardin ran out of Karak Gantuk, stole a ram from a farm and rode at top speed to Karak Hirn. By the time he got there, he was too late, Rats now swarmed over its walls and set up screaming bells in honour of their unknowingly deceased god the Horned Rat. The war machines had moved on already to their next conquest but the rats were very much still there.

However, the battle is not over. Tretch stood atop the former Dwarf settlement and saw Bardin coming, signalling for his clanrats and skavenslaves to attack.

And so with an army of Skaven charging straight for him and Tretch Craventail leading the charge, Bardin loaded his crossbow and sharpened his axe potentially one last time. He may not have his usual crew with him but he’s killed plenty of rats in his time. Here we go!

Laugh React – As the Clanrats attack Bardin, Tretch doesn’t even bother fighting him and just runs away to join the Skaven war machine and attack elsewhere.

Angry React – The Skaven swarm over Bardin. He kills plenty of them of course but with the wave of rats charging at him he doesn’t even notice Tretch circling round him to impale him from behind.
